GARDEN CITY WESTERN PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The WPOA will contact applicants and set up an interview before the selection of Ambassadors is made.


Thank you for your interest with the WPOA!

The WPOA offers three $500 scholarships:

• The Western Property Owners Association Scholarship, and 

• The Western Property Owners Association Scholarship in Memory of Past Presidents John F. Traxler, Paul J. Muscarella and Thomas Whalen

Criteria: Student candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Residency: The student must reside in the Western Section of Garden City, defined by the following boundaries: the Main Line of the LIRR to the north, the west side of Tanners Pond and Edgemere Roads to the east, Cambridge Avenue to the south, and Jefferson Street to the west.

  • Parental Membership: At least one parent must be a dues-paying member of the WPOA for a minimum of three years, including the year of the student's application.

  • Community Involvement: The student must actively participate in the community life of Garden City, including but not limited to school activities.

  • Community Service: The student must demonstrate a commitment to community service.

  • Educational Intent: The scholarship must be used to further the student’s education.
